But my difficulties is not how I want to identify myself or live my life. So enough of that! Just bear with me if you can, friends and readers, and we'll keep movin' right along......... looking forwards, not backwards.......to more fun and ongoing goodness at Adventure BootCamp. :)
We had 3 great workouts ending our Halloween week. On Wednesday, Brian pumped us up with a total body workout that was awesome. Those total body workouts are something else! Thats what the "Trifecta Workout" was all about and it kicked my #@$ for more than a week later. :)
So 'nuff said! It was Killer, but I managed to hobble home, treat my muscles with a little TLC of rest and ice packs, and prep myself for the final 2 days.
Thursday came cardio and ab work. Oh my God! So soon? I was tired as tired could be, but when it came time to giving my all, that's exactly what I did. One of the toughest circuits for me on this day was running the ladder. I decided that I would run behind "Sleek & Chic" and the Little Rocket. Oh, Lordy! This was truly an adventure, because it was late in the week and my reserves were all but spent.
Well, "Sleek & Chic" led the way, and it took every ounce of my stamina to keep up. She was a beast! Yeah, I have to call her "The Beast" on this round because I was thoroughly challenged! I'll have to remember how ferocious she can be with her speed when I choose who I'm running behind next time! :)
But truthfully, I was really proud of myself for taking the high road and pushing myself to my max. If I can do that 90% of the time, then I will deem the pink tiger successful. :)
Of course, Friday was the day to anticipate! Brian encouraged us all to come in costume and the best costume would win a $25.00 gift card. How great is that? I've never been exactly creative with costumes, but I decided it would be a blast to dress up as Brian! ;) Star gave me some suggestions, and even designed the T-shirt and brought the baseball camp. She even drew artistic sideburns on me for the full, authentic effect! Thanky Starr! :)
Of course the thing that came to my mind was, how was I going to duplicate Brian's legs in a pair of shorts? Ha-ha......:D
Let's face it.......the man's got some nicely proportioned, aesthetic limbs.....don't you think? :) And they seem to maintain this nice golden tone. How does he do it? Not fair a man could look that good in a pair of shorts. Ok........he looks damn good in a pair of shorts! What can I say? ;)
No Brian......I "ain't" mad at you! LoL! ;)
Me? I got legs so white they look like they belong to a Polar bear, and should be nicknamed, uh...........never mind. :( LoL!
Oh well, no problem, according to the "Starr"; just wear some tan pantyhose with "them thar" shorts and maybe I can come close. Hee-hee........Right!
The only thing that came close to me masquerading as Brian was my prop; I had a whistle. U know we love his trusty whistle! That was about as close as I got to resembling our Adventure coach. :)
Starr came as Superwoman lookin' cute in her costume and red lipstick, and we had a country bumpkin roaming our camp too. The indisputable winner was one of our very cool campers who came as Richard Simmons. I'd like to call her "Charisma". Oh, that was a creative costume and it was a hoot! With a few personal effects, she claimed Richard Simmons......from the crazy hair, to his itty bitty shorts, to his leg warmers! It was fabulous! Great job, "Charisma". :)
The other best in show came as a Mac Daddy and old school pimp in an orange suit draped with large, gold jewelry. Yeah, baby, it was old school! :) The only thing he was missing was a big gold tooth and a fedora hat with the plume dancing in the wind! :) Hee-hee! Now who would that be? Take a guess, friends, readers, and fitness warriors! Our one and only.............:D
After we enjoyed the festivities of our Costume Party, we got to work with another killer total body workout. The workout was chock full of variety, fitness props and toys, and our own bodies we had to haul for our cardio sprints. Make no mistake, I might have thought this was going to be a relaxing party day, but it wasn't! I put my time and perseverance in! :)
At the end of our Halloween week, Brian and his assistants celebrated the "Trick or Treater" with some refreshments. Homemade pumpkin spice muffins! Mmmmm! They were wholesome and healthy, and they tasted GRR-R-E-A-T!
Wow! How much fun can you hope to get in a fitness camp! Brian always comes to Adventure with a sense of fun and you almost feel as good as being a kid again! I loved the costume dress-up and delighted in the muffins......I mean.......those muffins were probably made from our own pumpkin patch! What do you think?! :)
And then.......as I was packing up my mat and fitness gear, I saw the ugliest face come out of the studio. Yikes!! What IS that???
Umm.....Is that a man or a woman? Dang, that face is ugly! It was a surreal experience. Could we be in the Twilight Zone again, or maybe Dark Shadows?
Opps! Wait a minute. Is that a real face or a mask? Ha-ha! What?? That was our own "Velvet Hammer" in Halloween mask! :) Whew! Thank goodness for small favors. Just a little bit scary folks! What a treat to see Kim in Halloween protocol. Thank you Kim, for gracing our party with your extraordinary beauty! ;) lol!
It was a great way to end a hard week of camp, and an awesome month of workouts! Sometimes it is so important to learn to laugh and play like a kid again and not take ourselves so seriously. It is as essential and significant as anything else we try to do to keep ourselves well balanced, stress-free, and mentally healthy.
Yet, as much fun as Friday was, a new month was upon us, and it was time to get back on the saddle and start riding hard! Holidays would be coming up which can derail us, and the Transformation Contest was surging on with no time out. Time to step it up, Fitness Warriors! :) I'll catch up with you next month.
the pinK tiger.....
.........on the loose..........
